Last night was a fun filled evening of entertainment organised and enjoyed by Chartwells school meal workers who are involved in planning how to improve their terms and conditions. It is not often they have an opportunity to socialise, especially with other co-workers from different schools and areas of Reading. It was a welcomed break from their busy lives, cooking, chopping, cleaning, preparing food, ordering stock, filling in forms and serving hundreds of nutritional meals everyday for the school children. Alot of them have their own children and so it was a welcome chance to discuss their working conditions with their fellow workers. Fun and games were certainly had, with a few jokes thrown in for good measure. The relaxed atmosphere helped the team currently progressing a campaign to discuss their next steps toward in making their working better.  Click HERE for the revealing pictures!

Workers from across Reading will be coming together on Wednesday night at the Hungry Horse to plan for the future and share stories. More to follow after Wednesday!
